Our magical lace teepee reading corner

Parker has been all about her books the past few months. She is getting away from wanting me to read to her in her rocking chair (insert super sad face) to wanting to sit on the ground and read to her dolls. Her room is pretty small, but we had one free corner that was begging for a teepee!

I had purchased her a teepee in the past from a shop on Etsy but was horrified when it showed up- it was a lot smaller than I had thought and the tee pee poles were plastic PVC pipes just wrapped in tape (UGH!) On top of that it was well over $150.

The decision to get her a teepee was made on December 22nd, lol, three days before when I actually needed it for Christmas. I have to admit I was totally skeptical about purchasing one on Amazon, I feel like these types of things can be hit or miss on there. I was absolutely in shock and totally in LOVE when it showed up, its absolutely gorgeous AND it has real wood poles! And even better it was $99 w/ free 2 day shipping if you have prime.

And like everything else I do, its another thing to decorate seasonally! haha! this seasons theme being Frozen since she is all things Elsa and Anna. I added these crystal string lights to it which makes it look so magical at night, and they take batteries so you don’t need to worry about a plug. This little white faux fur rug was the perfect size to go under it, and it makes it feel so cozy!!

Best part of this tent- I am able to hide all her fabric toy bins with her dolls and animals under it and she still has room to sit and play. These ones are Pillowfort from Target- but I linked a similar one here

This tent is large enough for her to enjoy for years to come ❤

2019!

On to a new year!

To say 2018 was busy would be an understatement; it was chaos! Between work, traveling and transitioning my daughter from being at home full time to starting preschool full time (and also having her in speech therapy, running to her cardiology appts, and having ear tube surgery) the year went by much quicker than I could have ever anticipated.

Truth be told I had a blog previously, it was also named “Mamas Who Shop”, but as luck would have it and with how busy I was last year I completely forgot to renew it! So I start here…from scratch.

A little about me- I am in the fashion industry, I have been for the last 11 years. I knew when I was 12 I wanted to do exactly what I am doing; traveling to NY and working with the best brands/ retailers in the business. I live in Orange County California with my husband, 2 year old daughter and 2 dogs. In my free time I LOVE throwing myself into something creative- shopping, crafting, decorating and planning the next holiday/ party. But with that said, I am the COUPON queen! Ask any of my close friends and family and they will tell you- I live for the bargains. I love sharing my good deals/finds/ hacks with everyone so what better outlet than here!

Cheers!!

xx
